Lourdes Orthopedics Chief Selected as an Honorary Commander of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst

Sean McMillan, DO, FAOAO, Chief of Orthopedics at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County and Director of Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Lourdes Medical Associates, recently became an honorary commander of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Dr. McMillan was selected as an honorary commander for having a record of service to the community and upholding a tradition of professional excellence, according to officials at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurt. As part of the recognition, Dr. McMillan was invited to the Joint Base Honorary Commanders’ Induction Ceremony on October 30.

Dr. McMillan, a leader in hip, shoulder and knee arthroscopy in the South Jersey area, has practiced at Lourdes since 2011.

A physician for local high school football teams, Dr. McMillan provides team medical coverage for Holy Cross High School, as well as Bordentown High School and Florence High School. He has been named a Top Doc for Kids by SJ magazine.

Dr. McMillan is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He serves as an associate faculty member for Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Orthopedic Residency Program and is on the Board of Directors for the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics. Dr. McMillan is a volunteer member of the Board of Directors for Robins Nest Center for Women and Children in South Jersey.

The Honorary Commanders Program at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was developed to encourage an exchange of ideas, share experiences, and foster friendship between key members of the local civilian community and the Joint Base military community.
