Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation (www.kessler-rehab.com one of the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospitals, honored members of the hospital’s medical, nursing, therapy and support staff for their exceptional work and dedication to patient care and service at the organization’s annual Triumph Awards. Four patients were also honored for their courage and determination in overcoming daunting medical, physical, cognitive and psychological challenges resulting from spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputation and neurological disorders.
“We are proud of the leadership demonstrated by Kessler staff members who have been honored for their contributions in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation,” stated Kessler President Robert Brehm, “and we are equally proud of our patients who have been recognized for their strength, courage, and determination.”
Among those honored:
? President’s Award. Presented to four members of the Kessler staff for their work directly with patients or in a supportive or administrative role that has distinguished them among their peers. -- Kathleen Fleischman, Patient Services, Chester campus -- Eileen Adesso, LPN, Saddle Brook campus -- Maureen Duane-Pfeifer, Outpatient Services, West Orange campus -- Sandra Lopes, Kessler Rehabilitation Center, Lakewood ? Henry H. Kessler Award for Medical Excellence. Acknowledges the exceptional work of a member of the medical staff. -- Monifa Brooks, M.D., West Orange campus ? Leadership Award. Acknowledges exceptional leadership qualities.
