Diane L. Wishnafski has joined the Windham Hospital Board of Directors and the Windham Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees.

Dennis Hannon, Chairman of the Windham Hospital Board welcomed Mrs. Wishnafski as well as ex-officio members Charles Shooks, MD, and Nadia Nashid, MD, to the Board of Directors, noting that
“each person’s experience will be invaluable to the Board.” In highlighting Wishnafski’s background, hospital President and CEO Dick Brvenik said, “Diane has had a long and distinguished career in banking and finance, and we look forward to benefiting from her expertise now and in the future."

Mrs. Wishnafski recently retired as an Executive Vice President of New Alliance Bank and she serves as a Trustee on several Boards of Directors including: the Southern Connecticut State University Foundation, Goodwin College Foundation, and the NewAlliance Bank Foundation. She recently completed her term on the Boards of Tweed Airport Authority, Saint Raphael’s Hospital Foundation, the Connecticut Tennis Center Foundation and Hamden Hall Country Day School.

Both physicians who joined the Board are well-known to the Windham Hospital family and are long-time members of the hospital’s medical staff. Dr. Shooks recently assumed the role of Chief of the Medical Staff at the hospital and Dr. Nashid became Assistant Chief of Staff. Dr. Shooks has been at Windham Hospital since 1976 and soon thereafter opened a practice called Quarry Street Internal Medicine. During his tenure he has served on various Medical Staff Committees, and also served as Chief of Medicine for three years.

Dr. Nashid began her tenure at Windham Hospital in 1986 and has served as the Chief of Pathology for many years. She has been instrumental in the hospital’s laboratory receiving excellent survey results from the College of American Pathologists. During her tenure at Windham Hospital she has served on various Medical Staff Committees and received Windham Hospital’s “Physician of the Year” award in 2009.
